Our producer: Caroline Morey

Caroline Morey is the wife of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. She worked in the past with her father Jean-Marc Morey at his vineyard in Chassagne-Montrachet. Since he wants to retire slowly, he transferred Caroline and her brother after the 2013 Harvest 2.5 hectares of its vineyards. Caroline received some very interesting parcels in Santenay and especially in Chassagne-Montrachet. She produces exclusively wines from her own vineyards, on which she works with the team of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. The maturation has been taking place since 2015 in the ultra-modern Cuverie, built with her husband Pierre-Yves, on the outskirts of Chassagne-Montrachet. In her white wine, she is strongly oriented to the style of Piere-Yves: crystalline, mineral, sustainable, clear. In particular from her oldest plots in Chassagne-Montrachet Chaumées and Caillerets she createssmasterpieces of white Chassagne. The comparison with the wines of Pierre-Yves is attractive and exciting.

The reds are of classic cut and the Chassagne-Montrachet Champs-Gains rouge produced in minute quantities exemplifies the potential of Chassagne-Montrachet for reds. It was not for nothing that this place used to be known primarily for the production of top-quality red wines. (Only with the increasing demand for white wines, which can be sold at a higher price, many winemakers planted white Chardonnay where there used to be Pinot Noir).
