Producers: Maison Olivier Bernstein

Olivier Bernstein comes from the entrepreneurial family of a music publisher who had nothing to do with viticulture. But already as a 20-year-old Bernstein had discovered his love for wine. In Beaune, he finally studied oenology and soon after founded his first winery. Since he has no own vineyards, he has been renting a growing number of selected plots with old vines since 2006, ordering them from biological and personal points of view, vinifying them very sensitively together with his equally crazy butler Richard Séguin in Gevrey-Chambertin. The harvest will be done, copared to other wineries, ustually a week earlier. Only completely healthy, highly ripe grapes are processed further. In the basement they trust in natural, almost archaic ways of working. Finishing and filtration are frowned upon, because the origin of the wines should be recognizable. For the barriques, perfectionist Bernstein personally selects the wood from the forests of Fontainbleau and Jupille. It remains consistent in its quality standards - if the wine does not exactly match its expectations, it will not be bottled and only sold in barrels. Just 30,000 bottles per year are generated, Bernstein has no interest in increasing those. he international trade press quickly became aware of the vinophile mastermind and has since turned to praise. It is agreed - with Olivier Bernstein has emerged a true superstar in Brugundy.
