History

For several generations, the vines of today's winery have been in the family of Anjan Boner, who is traditionally very closely connected with the vine. A total of three hectares of vineyards are cultivated, from which 15,000 to 20,000 bottles are pressed for the Anjan Boner winery. The life path of Anjan Boner, the youngest scion of the winegrowing family, seemed to be determined at a very early age: Already at a young age, he recognised his passion for the vines and was fascinated not only by the care, but also by the production of wine. When he embarked on this path, he was aware that it would not be easy to gain a foothold in the Swiss and Graubünden wine market. In the Grisons, most wineries have been producing their own wine for generations and are very successful. Anjan Boner nevertheless decided to create his own wine with a personal touch. After completing the four-year course at the "Höhere Bundeslehranstalt für Wein- und Obstbau" in Klosterneuburg (Austria), nothing stood in his way of realising his lifelong dream of owning his own winery.

The 1st vintage 2007 of the Anjan Boner winery consisted of an annual production of 1'200 bottles of Blauburgunder Auslese. In 2011, 1'200 bottles of Pinot Noir Auslese, 600 bottles of Pinot Noir Barrique and 480 bottles of Pinot Noir Federweiss were produced. In the following years, the range was gradually expanded and the production volume increased. In the 2013 production year, the range was already expanded with the two wine varieties Freisamer and Riesling Silvaner (grape variety Müller Thurgau). In 2014, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir Classic were added and the total production volume increased to over 5,000 bottles. In the 2016 production year, we added the Freisamer "Selvana" to the range, which we had to rename Freisamer "Vogelherd" in 2017 for legal reasons. The Chardonnay 2018 was launched in September 2019 and expanded the range by the 9th wine variety and this vintage let the wine production volume grow to more than 19'000 bottles. This means that our range presents wines of very different orientations. As of the 2018 vintage, the Anjan Boner winery is only one of the youngest and no longer one of the smallest wineries in the Bündner Herrschaft.

The Anjan Boner winery bears witness to a young and creative entrepreneurship, both externally and internally, and stands for an innovative idea, namely to launch the production of a wine with a very personal touch in the existing wine market. Anjan Boner's personality radiates a passion for wine and reveals that there is a lot of love and touching emotions in these wines. This makes his wines stand out from other wine productions in a pleasant way.
