Intense, impenetrable purple from rim to centre.Explosive aromas of black cherries, blueberries and spicy elderberries. Bittersweet nut chocolate, espresso bean and subtle toasted notes ensnare the beguiling fruit. On the palate, it presents itself with immense concentration. Incomparable balance, compact but silky soft tannin as well as abundant extract sweetness. The fruity components alternate with notes of noble wood and discreet floral notes until the long finish. A monumental vintage of Interpretación, and another great effort by Xavier Ausàs.
Bodega Ausàs was founded by Xavier Ausàs. Its first vintage was released in 2016. Javier was the second force behind the master Mariano Garcia at the legendary Vega Sicilia winery from 1988 to 2015. When Garcia left in 1998, Ausàs was the new strong man at Vega Sicilia. He managed the group's wineries with much success.Ridiculed at first, he took the wines of the Vega Sicilia group to the next level. He worked in one of the most modern wine cellars in the world and had the honour of managing the best and oldest vineyards in the Ribera del Duero. Around 2015, he left Vega Sicilia to work as a consultant for some renowned wineries in Spain.
