In the nose complex fruit aromas, wild berries, cassis, plum. Delicate spicy aromas exuding tobacco and minerality. From the first sip convinced the great structure, fine elegance and the long-ending finish.
Vinified in stainless steel tanks and American oak barrels. Matured for a minimum of 18 months.
Philip Togni has Ticino roots, but grew up in Scotland. Together with his wife Birgitta, an extremely talented Vineyard manager, who is still responsible for the vines and vineyards, he moved in the early 50s to California in the wine Eldorado. At over 700 meters in height, he bought in 1981, only a 10-acre vineyard on the Spring Mountain in the heart of the Napa Valley with ancient Prephylloxera vines, but at the beginning of the 90s were re-planted. This boutique winery produces only 25,000 bottles of one of the best and most elegant Cabernet blends per year. The wines are long-lived, are often accessible only after eight or more years, then gain in depth and finesse.
The soil of the vineyard is of volcanic origin. This vineyard is located at an altitude of up to 700 meters above sea level.
