Duroché's style is unobtrusive in intensity and elegance, with subtle tannins, earthy, salty, mineral core so typical of the gevery terroir.
The wines are fruity and have the structure for a long and slow aging.
It is sorted in the vineyard and again on the Domaine. The extraction is quite restrained here, only very little pigeage is carried out. After that, the wines are aged for about 16 months; 50-75% new wood is used for the Grand Crus, about 1/3 for the 1 Crus and 15-20% for the Village wines. The wines are bottled unfiltered and unadorned. You will notice the careful selection and aging process in the wines.
Pierre Duroché is without question one of the top newcomers in Burgundy. The first barrels were filled with the vintage 1933. 8.5 hectares is the estate with parcels in Gevrey Chambertin, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru and Grand Cru wines from the prestigious Clos de Bèze. He took over Domaine Duroché from his father in 2005; He supported his son Pierre in his quest for the perfect Pinot Noir. With each individual parcel, the particular terroir is unerringly worked out, and it is therefore not surprising that each individual wine can develop its own, great personality here. Crystal clear as liquid silk, also with an almost eerie-seeming precision, go the wines in the bottles. A must for all lovers of absolute Pinot Noir harmony, depth and inner tension!
The soils contain lime and sea sand.
