Intense nose. Small black berries, some cassis, "Mon Chéri", seductive toasted notes. Dense and complex. Strong on the palate, full-bodied and clearly structured. Again, a lot of black fruit, fine wood, coffee and black chocolate. A tightly woven tannin and a juicy acid give the wine a lot of strength and length. In the finish persistently aromatic and very harmonious.

Vinification / aging

The grapes come from the renowned Tenuta Tignanello. The 14-month refinement in the barrique is followed by twelve months in the bottle. Smells of ripe fruit and shows intense notes of vanilla and spices.

History

The Italian noble family Antinori in Tuscany has been dedicated to viticulture for 26 generations and is one of Italy's largest and most important wine producers and retailers. Founder was Giovanni di Piero Antinori in 1385. He came from a Florentine merchant family with a long winemaking tradition. In 1968, his son Piero took over the company. With the oenologist Giacomo Tachis he developed a wine from Sangiovese grapes, the authentic Tuscan vine, which he combined against the provisions of the wine law with Cabernet Sauvignon to a new cuvée, matured in small French barrique oak barrels so the wine characteristics were significantly changed.e success was overwhelming, the Tignanello was born and with him the first so-called "Supertuscan". Despite the impressive size - the Antinoris have 1700 ha of vines in Italy, including 1500 ha in Tuscany, along with goods in California and Chile - the company is still competently run by the family. In order to guarantee the consistently high quality, almost exclusively grapes from own cultivation are used. CEO and chief oenologist Renzo Cotarella, long a legend, has been watching over all goods and wines since 1979. The assortment is stylistically modern, the wines are typical, precisely drawn, with radiant fruit and polished tannins.
