History

She has been following this path since 1983, making her one of the visionaries and pioneers of the contemporary Austrian wine scene. This is how she decisively influenced the image of the new winegrower - quality-conscious, international, forward-looking. Enthusiasm, patience, trust, respect, ability and solidarity with the land on which their ancestors cultivated wine already 300 years ago - these are the essential building blocks of their success. She breathed new life into the Furmint, the ancient Hungarian variety, and specialties such as her Ruster Ausbruch, whose renaissance is of particular importance to her, established her status in the demanding world of wine lovers. For example, Robert Parker, publisher of the Wine Advocate, always rates her wines unusually high, and in 2003 Falstaff named her winemaker of the year. Heidi Schröck and her wines are closely linked. Producer and product are in mutual relationship and give each other identity. What distinguishes the product is not only its quality, but above all its uniqueness. The relationship with the customers, the contact with the people who value their wines, are an important part of Heidi Schröck's attitude to work and life. The work in the vineyards, which the winemaker regards as her most important asset, is for her not only the basis of her work, but at the same time an encounter with the power and potential of nature - and her own limits.

Terroir

The grapes come from different vineyards near the lake and a bit above it. The vineyards in the vineyards Greiner and Satz, Kraxner and Vogelsang are particularly suitable for Botrytis wines.
