Producers: Heitz Wine Cellars

Founded in 1961, Heitz Cellar is a true Napa Valley legend that has shaped the history of Napa Valley winemaking. Leading winemaker Joe Heitz introduced the modern era of Napa fifty-five years ago with iconic, world-renowned wines - including the first Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley, the renowned Heitz Cellar Martha's Vineyard. In 2018, the winery entered into an exciting new chapter when the Heitz family transferred this rich legacy to the Lawrence family, whose deep roots in agriculture and commitment to the same core values of fine winemaking perfectly match. Heitz Cellar will continue to produce wines in the typical Heitz style. With an unshakeable quality claim of organically grown, 100% Napa Valley grapes, the Heitz wines reflect our commitment to the administration of the Napa Valley. Heitz Cellar lives in a pristine valley in the eastern hills of St. Helena, known as Spring Valley. In 1964, Joe and Alice Heitz acquired this 16 Hetkar-sized winery to house their family business. The gray stone cellar, built in 1898 from hand-chiseled perlite, is still in operation today and houses its oak barrels. In a few steps from this stone landmark is its modern winery, where wines are fermented, blend and matured in oak barrels. The stone cellar is reminiscent not only of the rich history of Heitz, but also of the winemakers from the Napa Valley who came before them. Heitz Cellar has earned countless awards for his wines since 1961. Their renowned vineyard wines - Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - are the cornerstones of the winery. Heitz's notable Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has been a popular collector's wine for decades.
