The young wine is aged in barriques so that the wine presents itself a little more tannic, a touch denser, but no less fine and as long-lasting as its traditionally aged Ghemme wines.
The Arlunno family is the soul of Ghemme viticulture. For more than 4 centuries, one generation has passed on its "feu sacré" to the next. This is exactly what is needed in this self-sufficient region, which is far too small to be known far and wide, but which connoisseurs like to recommend as a confidential tip. Wine books often pass over the Ghemme, but rarely the Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo of the Arlunno family.
The vineyards are situated on steep hills, facing south, with moraine soils rich in minerals and poor in nutrients.
