Im Glas ein funkelndes rubinrot. In der Nase tief, aber beeindruckend elegant: reife Kirschen, getrocknete Orangenschalen und feine Gewürznoten. Am Gaumen fruchtbetont, seidige Tannine, frisch, klar, langer druckvoller jedoch eleganter Abgang.
The old vineyards of Giulio Salvioni (La Cerbaiola) are located exactly where the best wine is made, namely on the middle slope of Montalcino. Giulio Salvioni is one of the great old men, a unique piece with decades of cult status.
Salvioni only owns 4 hectares. For this, this vineyard is meticulously cared for, close to nature and with devotion. The yield is also rather modest, but of the highest quality, the wines are silky and full of finesse. For more than 20 years now, Salvioni's wines, together with those of a handful of befriended winemakers, have been at the top of all Brunelli. Despite the outstanding potential in Montalcino, there are unfortunately only a few world-class wines, Salvionis are certainly some of them.
