History

The house De Sousa in Avize resembles to their old vineyards, which it has been preserved for over half a century. Its roots go back far into the history of the Côte des Blancs. They nourish wines that pay homage to this extraordinary area and have a family of fixed values: respect for nature, love of good work, quality and innovation. As a pioneer, Erick de Sousa has been able to turn the postcard images of the past into the future. "It is not enough to have a great terroir, we must respect it and allow the vine to express its character." Since the 1995 vintage, winemaking is carried out in small oak barrels to give the wine complexity and fullness. Located in the heart of the prestigious Côte des Blancs for three generations, on classified Grands Crus terroirs such as Avize, Cramant, Ogre and Mesnil / Oger. Its terroirs have an ideal south-east orientation with maximum sunlight. The calcareous subsoil carries over to our champagne, finesse, elegance and a beautiful minerality.
